Nola Petersen Fallows quietly past from this world on August 15, 2024 at the age of 103. Nola was born to Royal Theodore and Elizabeth Carrie Petersen on August 18, 1921 in Perry, Utah. She married Earl Fallows on November 18, 1942 in the Logan Temple. Together they had four children, Lary, Ray, Ida, Hollie. The family moved to Downey in 1955.

Nola was the oldest daughter of six girls and one brother, who passed away early in his life! She was her dad’s helper and enjoyed working by his side in the field and orchards. She preferred the outside to being in the home learning household skills. Nola attended Box Elder High School and frequently rode the horse to school. She graduated in 1939. She helped military efforts by working in a military ammunition plant. Nola loved raising and working in her garden. So much so, that in her later years, she would ride her Jazzi out into the garden and frequently would get stuck. Nola was musically inclined and enjoyed playing the piano and singing in ward choirs and the Madrigal’s for many years.

Nola was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in numerous ward callings. Nola served two missions, the first in Philadelphia area and the second in the Church History Center in Salt Lake City. Earl and Nola were also called to serve in the Logan Temple. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and was a great example to her children and grandchildren.

Nola enjoyed sewing, making quilts, working on her genealogy and crocheting was her passion! She made afghans for family members, warm beanies for Christmas gifts and nylon scrubbiest for everyone’s homes. Every year without fail, Nola could be found working somewhere in the Bannock County Fair. When she celebrated her 100th birthday, she was selected to be the Grand Marshall of the parade. She was also a member of the DUP.

Nola was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, three sisters, Freda, Pearl, Theona and brother, Don LeRoy. She is survived by sisters, Beth Forsgren and Opal Valencia. Nola is survived by her children, Lary Fallows, Chubbuck, ID, Ray Fallows (Jennae), Kaysville, UT, Ida Walton, (Kirk), Cokeville, WY and Hollie Malone (Jim), West Jordan, UT, 16 grandchildren, 43 great-grand children and 1 great-great-grandchild.
