Neil L. Sheriff, 91 passed away peacefully at his home April 12, 2010. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He has been a great support to his family and loved ones.
He was born March 9, 1919 in Malad, Idaho to Elizabeth Gleed Sheriff and Everett C. Sheriff.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Cecil, Elwin and Orville; sisters Nellie and Beth; his first Margaret A. (Black) Sheriff and sons Everett Gleed and Robert.
He is survived by his loving wife, Norma, daughter Patricia Hibler and son, Lawrence (Jane) Sheriff.
He was a beloved grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather to many children who adored him.
Neil served honorably for the Railroad Battalion in France during World War 11. He was retired from Union Pacific Railroad where he worked as a pipe fitter. He was a long time resident of Bountiful, Utah and eventually moved to Murray, Utah. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He was an active member of the LDS Church holding many positions. He loved to serve in his church callings. He leaves behind a legacy of love and service.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 12 noon in the Murray 8th Ward Chapel, 160 East 4600 South, a viewing will be held from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
