Myrtle Phillips West

Myrtle West 84, died Sept. 11th
Mrs. West, 84, a longtime Pocatello resident, died at her home Monday. She was born March 26, 1894 at Malad to Edward and Elizabeth Jones Phillips. The family moved to Pocatello shortly after her birth and she had made her home in Pocatello since.
On July 13, 1915 she married Harter L. West at Rupert, Idaho. A Union Pacific Railroad, employee,” he died” March 10, 1963. From 1918 to 1949 they operated the Subway Grocery in Pocatello. She was a member of the B of L.F. & E. Auxiliary; and of Syringa Lodge No. 400.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Maude Corr and a brother, Morgan Phillips of Inkom; a number of nephews and nieces, including a nephew, Sterling Phillips of Malad.
Funeral services were held Thursday at the Downard Chapel with the Rev. J. Russell Houston of Central Christian Church officiating. Burial was in the family plot in Falls View Cemetery, American Falls.’
