Mitzi Ann Evans
April 29, 1964 – September 27, 2023

Mitzi Ann Evans, 59, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2023, at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah, after a lifelong valiant fight against diabetes.

Mitzi was born on April 29, 1964, in Logan, Utah, to Paul and Darlene Evans. When she was little, she lived in Salt Lake, Brigham, and North Ogden, Utah, before moving to Malad, Idaho, to finish Middle and High School. She was the second child and grew up within a few years of age of her brothers, Paul and Dave. Seven years later, she finally got her little sister Jennifer. She was an amazing athlete in her youth and could throw a baseball further than any boy. In High School, she enjoyed playing the flute in the Malad Pep Band and singing in the choir.

Upon graduation from Malad High School in 1982, Mitzi was married and sealed to Steven Jones on June 11, 1982, in the Salt Lake City, Utah temple. Steve and Mitzi shared 18 years together. Mitzi looked forward to the day when she could become a mother to their four children: Bryan, Brett, Jared, and Kristen. They were her pride and joy.

Most of her jobs included working with children, which was her true love in life. She had a unique way with children and wanted to make a difference in their lives. She worked as a medical assistant in Logan, Utah, for the pediatric clinic of Dr. Craig Armstrong and Dr. Redd in Kemmerer, Wyoming, at a Family Practice. Later in her life, she worked at the after-school programs in Malad and then as a classroom assistant for Bear River Head Start in Logan, Utah. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time on the lake with her family, camping, and creating artistic gifts for her loved ones.

Mitzi was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Throughout her life, she had a strong testimony of the plan of salvation and the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and loved her family fiercely. Becoming a grandma was one of the best days of her life. She loved her grandkids and would do anything for them. She didn’t miss birthdays and thoroughly enjoyed celebrating the holidays with her family.

She is survived by her children, Bryan (Tori) of Boise, Idaho, Brett (Mataya) of Draper, Utah, Jared of Malad, Idaho and Kristen of Logan, Utah, her parents, Paul and Darlene Evans of Malad, Idaho, her siblings, Paul (Jeanette) of Rexburg, Idaho, Dave (Tuli) of Salt Lake City, Utah and Jennifer (Kirk) of Malad, Idaho, and 11 grandchildren, Brynlee, Jake, Ellie, Carter, Oakley, Zayne, Addilyn, Eden, Jaycee, Gracelyn and Asher.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Darhl Evans and Dorothy Evans, Les Morris and Alene Hildreth, and an Uncle Bob Evans and Aunt Margaret Pyke.
