Milton Call Grover

GROVER, MILTON CALL

Milton Call Grover, 82, of Provo, died June 1, 1989 at his home following a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born August 11, 1906 in Rigby, Idaho, a son of Enoch and Amber Jane Call Grover. He married Irene Luke, July 24, 1934 in the LDS Cardston, Alberta Temple. He graduated from Rigby High School in Idaho, where he was active in music and sports. He then attended Brigham Young University of Idaho where he received a B.S. degree.

He taught school in Southern Idaho for several years, where he was involved with the Future Farmers of America and community education. In 1940 he returned to the University of Idaho to receive his master’s degree in vocational education. He then accepted a position with the University of Idaho as a county agricultural extension agent for Oneida County in Malad, Idaho. He worked in this position for 25 years until his retirement in 1967.

He moved to Provo in 1974 to be near his family.

He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many positions. He was a member of the Rivergrove Third Ward high priest’s quorum at the time of his death. He worked for several years in the Provo LDS Temple. He and his wife Irene served as missionaries in the South Dakota Mission in 1978 and 1979.

Surviving are his wife of Provo; five sons and two daughters, Milton Dee Grover, Los Gatos, CA; David Grover, Riverdale; Gary Grover, Provo; Kenneth Grover, Helena, MT; Mark Grover, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Jan (Vicki) Burnham, Bloomfield, CO; Mrs. Noel (Nancy) Jenkins, Vancouver, WA; 40 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Armelia McQuivey and Mrs. Welda Dutson, both of Ogden; Mrs. Guy (Irma) Bledsoe, Rockland, CA; Mrs. Cecil (Vetta) Scott, Idaho Falls, ID.

Funeral was Monday at the Walker Mortuary Chapel, Provo. Burial was in the provo City Cemetery.
