Melna Louise Sluder
January 7, 1939 – November 19, 2022

Melna Louise Sluder, current resident of Middleton, Idaho passed away at the age of 83 in Pocatello, Idaho on Saturday November 19th, 2022 after spending the last couple months surrounded by friends and family. Louise was born on January 7th, 1939 in Pocatello Idaho and was raised in Arimo Idaho. She was born to parents George William Aslett & Melna Lavon Lowry Aslett and was the 4th of 5 children.

Louise grew up helping to work the family farm by caring for the horses, cows, and driving the truck and trackers by the age of 9. She loved spending time outside riding her horse and helping her father on the farm. She was crowned Rodeo Queen at the young age of 14 and carried the love of horseback riding throughout the rest of her life. She was also talented as a gardener and was known for her green thumb. She loved her rose gardens and growing fresh vegetables. Louise was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved nothing more than discussing the scriptures in Sunday School and Attending the Temple.

From her first marriage to Marvin Rex Christensen, she had a son Rodney Rex Christensen (Karen) and a daughter Rhonda Jean Pickens (Dan) and gained a step-daughter Robin Zohner (Michael). From her second marriage to Ezelle Eze Sluder she had a daughter Linda Lee Pierce (Soren). And from this came 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren, her “greatest accomplishment”.

Louise spent most of her life in the Southern Idaho area, and the last 10 years in the Treasure Valley before spending the last few months back in Pocatello surrounded by family following the onset of illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Lamar, her husband Eze, and son Rod. She is survived by her sister’s Gayla & Judy, daughters Rhonda & Linda, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services to honor her memory were held on Saturday November 26th, 2022 in Arimo, Idaho followed by a graveside dedication in McCammon Idaho, where she was laid to rest beside her late husband.

A special thanks from the family to Brookdale Pocatello and Heritage Home Health & Hospice for their exceptional care and support during the final days of our beloved mother & grandmother’s life. We will always treasure how your care eased hearts during this difficult time.
