Mary Kay Williams, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on the evening of July 24, 2025, at 8:00 p.m., surrounded by her loving family as fireworks lit up the sky outside—a fitting tribute to a life filled with light, laughter, and love.
Born on August 7, 1941, Mary Kay lived a life rich in meaning, guided by faith, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to those she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Jay Williams, Her brother George Livingston and her son, David Williams, whom she joins in peace and love.
Mary Kay had unwavering love for her siblings, James Livingston, Jeanne Coen, Charlie Livingston and honorary sister; Connie Diebold.
Mary Kay was the beloved mother of David Williams, Robert Williams, Aimee Wilcox, Kathryn Hartwig, Christina Macias, and John Williams. She also opened her heart and home to foster daughters Bernita Endfield and Verna Rose Harold, who became cherished and loved members of her family.
Mary Kay also loved her bonus children, Esmeralda Williams, Justin Wilcox, Gina Williams, Mark Hartwig, Christopher Macias and Abby Fein.. All of whom loved her endlessly.
As a grandmother, she was proud of her 24 grandchildren; Tyler, Kaitlin, Ryley, Kai, JR, Dylan, Chance, McKenna, Savanna, Tanner, Delaney, Zane, Zachary, Ethan, Cooper, Ashley, Kelsey, Makayla, Keigan, Camdyn, and Trevan.
And her bonus grandchildren; Ryan, Whitney, Harmony, Zachary, Richard, Justin, Tauni, Enkri, Keaton, Wyatt, Ellie and Jude.
Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren William, Arixa, Diesel, Maggie, Maeve, Bode, Jayden, Ruby, Avila, Loretta, Finn and Amina.
And her great-great-grandchildren Makailen and Illiana.
And her endless cousins, friends, family and loved ones who will always remember her kind spirit, smile and joy she brought to their lives- if even for a moment.
For many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren; her big warm bed was a place for story books, magic, love and comfort. She spent countless hours giving snuggles, reading books with silly voices and songs and playing bugs in the bed.
Mary Kay’s love for books and knowledge led her to a lovely career as a librarian, where she inspired generations of readers and learners.
She was a woman of deep and unwavering faith and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her devotion to the gospel was evident in the way she lived—selflessly, joyfully, and with grace.
She loved nature and all the beautiful plants and flowers in it. She loved to garden, and grew her own vegetables and fruits for decades.
She loved to dance, to cook and bake; with recipes for every occasion! And she never wavered in watching her favorite TV dramas. She had an infectious laugh and a radiant smile that could brighten any room.
She was so creative, warm, bright and beautiful.
Mary Kay’s warmth, kindness, and zest for life will be missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and laughter lives on in the hearts of her family and all whose lives she touched.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2025 at 5:30 pm in the LDS church at 2550 West 9800 South, South Jordan, Utah. Friends may meet with the family from 4:30-5:15.
