Mary Evans Lewis, 29 July 1905

Mary Evans Lewis, 97, of Malad, passed away May 30, 2003 at the Oneida County Nursing Home in Malad, ID.

She was born July 29, 1905 in Malad to William J. and Eliza Adams Evans.

She married George Lewis, September 8, 1926 in Salt Lake City, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple. They resided in Malad until his death in 1977. Mary then moved to Downey, residing with her daughter, Lila (LaMar) Barnes until May, 2002 when she entered Oneida County Nursing Home. She was a member of the LDS Downey First Ward.

Mary loved to quilt, crochet, embroider and cook for her family. She served as a Relief Society teacher and supervisor for many years while living in Malad.

She is survived by her daughter, Lila (LaMar) Barnes of Downey; and grandchildren: Ronda, Trudy, Tom, Rory (Sandra) and Chad (Tami) Barnes, all of Downey, and David G. (Pam) and Randy C. (Melanie) Lewis of Bountiful, UT. She also had numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services were held June 3, 2003 at the Horsley Funeral Home in Malad. Her burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
