Mary Ellen Hadley
October 10, 1951 – July 19, 2023

Mary Ellen Hadley, 71, passed away on July 19, 2023, in Downey, Idaho. Mary was born at St. Anthony’s hospital in Pocatello; RR Merrell was the doctor, and she was 19” long and weighed 9lbs. 1oz. Mary grew up in Inkom, Idaho with her mom, dad, sisters, and brothers. She went to school in Inkom and later attended Marsh Valley High School. She graduated in 1969.

Mary did several interesting jobs well. She started working at a bank in Pocatello and ended her career in Downey as a teller for Ireland Bank. She worked as a cashier and manager at different convenience stores in town. She related her most fun job as a librarian on the book mobil.

Mary married Scott Hadley on May 28, 1972, and they had their son Justin. Mary traveled around the country with Scott building powerlines. They celebrated their marriage of 50 years in May. Mary was a spiritual healer and enjoyed helping people.

Mary loved her large family that included, her husband Gordan Scott Hadley, son, Justin Scott Hadley, parents, John & Lena Poppleton, sisters, Annette (Clark) Henderson (Blair Henderson) , Lenada Bosworth (Claude), brothers, Lynn Poppleton(Lonni), Norm Poppleton, brother-in-laws Steve Hadley(Janet), Mark Hadley (Kelly) Sister- in -law Marti Phillips(Dennis), Kathy Poppleton(Eddie).

A Celebration of life for Mary will be held on September 30th at the American Legion Building in Downey, Idaho. Family may visit from 1:00-3:00 pm and friends and the public from 3:00-5:00 pm.
