Mary Ellen Van Cott dies June 16 in SLC

Mrs. Mary Ellen (Evans) Van Cott, age 82 and a former Malad resident, died Thursday, June 16, in a Salt Lake City nursing home following a long illness.

She was born Dec. 27, 1895, in Malad to Isaac and Annie W Evans. She married John L. Van Cott Aug. 19, 1924 in Pocatello He died in February 1959.

Survivors include one son John L. Van Cott of Coeur d’ Alene; two daughters, Mrs. F.W. (Gloria) Reichardt of El Paso, Tex., and Mrs. Kay H. (Beverly) Spackman of Sandy, Utah; eight grandchildren; one brother, James W.J. Evans of Malad; and one sister, Mrs. Elmer C. (Gwenford) Jenson of Montpelier.
