Mary Dredge Crowther

Mary Dredge Crowther, 91 died October 15, 1993 at Orem, Utah. Mary was born August 17, 1902 in Malad City, Idaho, a daughter of Jess H Dredge and Eliza Rosetta Kunz Dredge. She married Junius L. Crowther, August 19, 1925 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Mary served a mission in Toronto, Canada and later with Junius in the Western States Mission. She attended the University of Utah and taught school in Malad. She served in many church positions, as wll as Ward Relief Society President and Stake Young Women President. She was a very active genealogist and trainer and was also involved in civic affairs.

Mary was preceded in death by a son, Junius L. Crowther, Jr. her parents; two sisters, Ceclia and Hettie; four brothers, Jesse, Wilford, Nathan, and David.

She leaves her husband, two sons and four daughters; Wilford P. (Marjean) of Bountiful; Ray Sheldon (Sharolyn) of Stant, California; Carol (Dee) Sharp and Vella (Keith) Perkins of Orem; Carma (Sterling) Redd of Salt Lake; Rosemary (Leo) Wilcox of Farmington was well as 25 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by one brother, Calvin Dredge; six sisters; Ellen Castleton, Thelma Gibbs, Ruth Swanson, Rose Ward, Norma Hill, and Elaine Mills.

Funeral services were held Oct. 18, in Orem. A viewing was held Tuesday, October 19 in the Malad First Ward Chapel with interment following in the Malad City Cemetery.
