(Book of Remembrance Entry)

Doug and Pat Hansen, along with myself at 6 am, started on a journey to the Los Angeles Temple to meet Kenneth Hansen and his sweet family who have come to the temple to be sealed for time and all eternity. Ruth, my daughter, met us there also.
The morning was clear and the whole world was so beautiful and peaceful. After 45 minutes of driving, we came to the temple grounds, which have beautiful green lawns and landscaped with so many colored flowers. It helps to prepare your mind to enter the temple. As you place your feet on the first step, ready to walk into the temple, my thoughts are: Is my heart humble and my thoughts pure so that my mind can be receptive to the beauty that will be unfolded here? As we entered the temple, Kenny’s two little children looked like little angels looking up at us.
After the ordinance was over, we all went to a lovely dinner there in the temple. As I was ready to leave the temple, those beautiful paintings of our dear prophets all seemed to whisper to me, “How privileged a people you are. If you follow the counsel of these noble men, your life will be a very humble experience.” As we came out of the temple to the beautiful surroundings, each family said goodbye and all went to their cars. But to our surprise, in the early morning rush we had left the car lights on and had no battery. The car had to be pushed to a gas station and Douglas had to purchase a new battery which caused quite a delay. Pat and Doug were very concerned about the delay because they had four small children at home. In a few minutes we arrived back at Douglas’s where Dennis and their four children gave us a warm welcome. The end to a perfect day.
Note: I guess it might seem strange that I included this in this Book of Remembrance. I thought it gave us an insight into her. How the very simple things meant so much to her. This occasion must have been very special to her because she came home and wrote this down. I found it among some of her things. – Unknown contributor (probably a son or daughter)
