Marie Ann Dallas Douglass

Marie Ann Dallas Douglass 67, of Boise, Idaho passed away on July 30, 2010, after a lengthy illness. Marie was born in St. Anthony, Idaho on January 11, 1943 to Ben A. and May M. Dallas. Shortly after her family moved to Malad, Idaho, where she lived and went to school. The family later moved back to St. Anthony, where she completed her education. Even in her younger years Marie loved music. She played the piano and loved singing in her beautiful soprano voice in the Community Presbyterian Church choir. She also loved working at the local theater with her closest friends.
On May 4, 1962, Marie married Donald D. Douglass. Marie and Don truly enjoyed working and raising their two children, Wade and Dawn Marie, in St. Anthony’s small town atmosphere. Marie also enjoyed summer visits with her stepson, Rick, whom she loved very much. Marie loved traveling and the many trips the family took to the Oregon Coast, Seattle, California and Canada. She also had many happy memories of her days playing on various bowling and golf leagues. Marie was a voracious reader and took a large interest in current political events.
Marie was a secretary for the Tri-County Special Services, a federally funded elementary school program for the Fremont, Sugar City and Teton School districts. She also worked part time at the St. Anthony City Library and later went to work for the Targhee National Forest Supervisor’s Office as the supervisor’s secretary.
In 1982, Marie and Don moved to Boise, Idaho. Marie spent the next 16 years working at Albertson’s Corporate Office. While in Boise, Marie felt very blessed to be near her children and wonderful grandchildren, as together with Don, they were the greatest loves of her life.
Survivors include her loving husband, Don Douglass; son, Wade J. Douglass (Connie); daughter Dawn Marie McCrea, stepson, Rick (Roni) Stevenson; granddaughters, Alyssa Lin (Greg) Vandervelden, Holland Kaye McCrea, Kathryn Douglass, grandsons Ryan Dean Douglass, Dallas J. McCrea, Cody Blacksmith and Christopher Stevenson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Gerald Dallas and son-in-law, Daniel J. McCrea.
Private family services are pending the direction of Summer’s Funeral Home, Ustick Chapel. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Luke’s Hospice program for their compassionate support and excellent care.
