Margaret Rowe Young Dives

Margaret passed away on January 3, 2011 after a three month battle with cancer. She was born on August 8, 1946 in Thornton, Idaho. Her parents, Thomas William Rowe and Doris Chenney Rowe, are both deceased.

Margie grew up in Thornton with four sisters, Loma, Rita, Doloris and Ronda; and three brothers, Tom, Douglas and Shane, who passed away in April, 2010. When Margie was 12, the family moved to Blackfoot and bought a big house with a pasture. She loved horses and always wanted a horse of her own and now the family had enough room for one. They bought a mare named Patsy, which Margie loved to ride. Soon after, the mare had a colt named Bucky, which Margie tamed all by herself.

She loved the horses and would spend as much time with them as she could. Margie used to say that she wished there was a perfume that smelled like a horse. She enjoyed riding the horse down to the canal, where she and her siblings would go swimming and would then ride the horse back home.

Margie grew up loving the outdoors and the mountains. Her parents took their children fishing every week as they were growing up and they all loved it.

She married Glen Young and the couple had three sons, Matthew, Jason and Travis. They later divorced. She moved to Malad with her sons and they bought a house in Samaria, which she loved very much. After the boys had grown up, Margie married Ed Dives and they started raising horses together. After Ed’s death, Margie sold the place and moved to Grants Pass, Oregon, to be close to her grandchildren.

She enjoyed gardening, going to dances and spending time with her family. She had eight grandchildren whom she loved very much. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.
