DeLell Evans
M. DeLell Evans, known to her friends arid family as Dee, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Boise, Idaho. Dee was born on August 2, 1941 in Malad, Idaho, to David Lloyd Evans Ill and Marilyn Wedel Evans. Her father died in an automobile accident prior to DeLell ‘s birth . DeLell spent her childhood in Malad with her mother, Marilyn and the support of her grandparents. David L. and Margaret T. Evans along with her aunts and uncles.
Dee graduated with honors from Malad High School, where she was a recognized national scholar. She began her college education at Idaho State University, attended Douglass College in New Jersey, and
then earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology, Cum Laude, from San Jose State University. Professionally, Dee spent 30 years as a supervisor of the Clinical Lab at Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto, California.
I n 1965, Dee gave birth to her beloved daughter. Laurie Kathryn. Dee and Laurie resided in Sunnyvale
throughout Laurie’s childhood . In 1999, Dee retired and moved back to her beloved Idaho and resided in Hagerman where she was involved in the Hagerman Library Board of Directors.
She also served on the D.L. Evans Bank Board of Directors. In her active years, Dee loved to travel, camp and fish, spending many vacations with her best friend, Marilyn McGillis. A life long learner, she was fascinated by technology, even purchasing the first computer produced commercially by Apple. That passion followed her throughout the rest of her life. Her grandchildren were very important to her and she loved them dearly. Dee also loved her animals , which includes her current dogs, Big Annie and Little Annie.
Dee is survived by her daughter Laurie K . Snyder and her husband David , and grandchildren Daniel Lawrence, Madalyn Dagny. and David Nolan . She is also survived by Marilyn (Mimi) McGillis. She was preceded in death by her parents, David L. Evans, Ill and Marilyn Wedel Evans . . .
A celebration of her life. for family and friends, was held at the Canyon Crest Event Center in Twin Falls.
