Lynne Adair Jones
September 9, 1944 – May 14, 2024

Pocatello, Idaho… Lynne Adair Jones, 79, a longtime Pocatello resident, passed away on May 14, 2024. Lynne was born September 9, 1944, in Spokane, Washington. She was the daughter of Robert and Mona Hill. She was raised and educated in Grace, Idaho. She graduated from Grace High School in May 1962. She graduated from cosmetology school at Idaho State University in 1965 and instructed cosmetology there until 1970.

She married Michael Jones in Grace, Idaho, on January 28, 1966. They were later sealed in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Idaho Falls, Idaho, temple. They made their home in Pocatello, Idaho, where Lynne worked alongside her husband in their business endeavors for 15 years. She then went to work as a dietary manager at Hillcrest Haven for 14 years and then at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Pocatello, Idaho, for 10 years, where she retired.

Lynne’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was an active and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in various leadership roles. Her service included being a Primary President, Relief Society President twice, Young Women’s President twice, and a member of the Stake Relief Society Presidency. She also shared her knowledge and faith as a Sunday School Teacher and served as a Temple Worker for both the Idaho Falls and Pocatello, Idaho, temples.

Lynne is survived by her husband, Michael Jones of Pocatello, Idaho. Three siblings: Jeff Hill of Riverton, Utah; Jenifer Panter of Smithfield, Utah; and April Smith of Grace, Idaho. Three daughters: Sharon Carter of Thatcher, Idaho; Shauntel Jones of Pocatello, Idaho; and Tiffany Harris of McCammon, Idaho. Seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild with another on the way! Her grandchildren were the center of her universe and the loves of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mona Hill, and her sister, Margo May.

The community is invited to remember and celebrate Lynne’s life at her funeral services, which will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 12:00 pm (noon) at 1440 Lakeview Drive in Pocatello, Idaho, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Following the service, a burial service will take place at 3:00 pm at the Norton Cemetery in McCammon, Idaho
