Evans, Lynn – 9 July 1909

Lynn A. Evans, 86, 1263 Cottage Ave., died early Wednesday morning, August 16, 1995 following an extended illness.

He was born July 9, 1909 at Malad, Idaho to William J. and Eliza Adams Evans. He attended schools in and graduated from Malad High School. He married Rebecca Phillips November 28, 1929 at Malad, Idaho. She preceded him in death December 29, 1984.

For 10 years he managed Evans Co-op IGA Store in Malad, then moved to Pocatello in 1940 and owned and operated Lynn’s Food Store. Beginning in 1950 Lynn A. Evans was deputy Bannock County Assessor for 25 years, retiring on December 31, 1975.

He enjoyed fishing and traveling. He was a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He and his wife Hazel had a very happy marriage of 55 years.

He is survived by one son, Lynn R. and Ann Evans of San Diego, Calif.; two daughters, Bonnie J. Evans, lava Hot Springs, and Joan R. and Mike Seldons, Lewiston, Idaho; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Lewis, Downey, Idaho. He was proceeded in death by two brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 19, 1995 at 2 p.m. In the Henderson Funeral Chapel, 431 N 15th Ave., with Bishop Sheldon D. Olsen of the Pocatello LDS Eighth Ward Pocatello West Stake officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. Until service time on Saturday at the Henderson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery.
