Louise Cherrington Hamby

HAMBY, LOUISE CHERRINGTON, August 23, 1926 – December 6, 2006

PLEASANT VIEW – Louise Cherrington Hamby passed away on December 6, 2006 at Manor Care Nursing Center after a long illness. She was born on August 23, 1926 in Panguitch, Utah to Jesse Marvin Cherington and Jessie Tebbs Cherrington. She ws reared and educated in Panguitch, Utah. She graduated from Panguitch High School and moved to Ogden in 1944. She married William Green Hamby on May 18, 1946.

She worked for the Defense Depot during World War II and continued to work for the Federal Government for the next 30 years. She retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1975. She was active in the women’s auxiliary of the Eagles and the Elks clubs.

She was a member of the LDS Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie Christensen (Doyle) of Pleasant View and her sister, Beth Evans of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, William Jesse Hamby and her sisters, Leah Weaver and Mae Cram.

A memorial service will be held Monday, December 11, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, Ogden. Friends may call prior to the memorial from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Interment, Myers Evergreen Memorial Park.
