LEONARD THOMAS DIES AT BLACKFOOT

Leonard Thomas, 72, a long time resident of Blackfoot, died at his home May 8, 1966 of a heart attack.

He was born April 6, 1894 in Malad, the son of Joseph and Emily Rees Thomas. He married Elva H. Hardy June 9, 1919 at Daniels, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. They moved to Blackfoot in 1921. Mr. Thomas was employed before retiring as a machinist at the naval Ordinance Plant in Pocatello.

He was a veteran of the First World War and was an elder in the LDS Church.

He is survived by his widow, one son and four daughters: Boyd L. Thomas, Blackfoot; Mrs. Roy A. (Diana) Herres, Mrs. LeGrand (Dorothy) Caldwell, and Mrs. Gail (Merle) Clough, all of Blackfoot, and Mrs. Wesley (Ethel) Cable, Pocatello. Also two brothers and six sisters: Leo Thomas, Salt Lake City; William R. Thomas, Malad; Mrs. Merle Lignitz, Bremerton, WA; Mrs. J. H. (Emma) Andrew, Eureka, UT; Mrs. Henry (Leona Brown, Los Altos, CA; Mrs. Lee (Ruth) Curtis, Ogden, UT; Mrs. Walt (Margaret) Allgier, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Peter (Edna) Crum, Lava Hot Springs, 21 grandchildren also survive.
