Leon Williams, 28 May 1917

NORTH OGDEN – Leon Williams, 78, died April 23, 1996 at a local care center following a short illness. He was born May 28, 1917 in Malad, ID, a son of Elvin and Annie Charlotte Jenkins Williams.

He married Shirley Lewis on June 26, 1939 in Ogden.

He was raised and educated in Malad, ID, graduating from Malad High School. Following his marriage he moved to Los Angeles, CA. He relocated to the Ogden area in 1948 where he spent the remainder of his life.

He was a member of the North Ogden 7th LDS Ward. Mr. Williams had been a truck driver for Garrett Freight Lines. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.

He loved spending time with his family and he had many friends. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time gardening in his yard.

Surviving are his wife of N. Ogden and one daughter, Holly Lee (Hal) Christensen, Ogden; four grandchildren, Kelli, Tony, Todd and Tyler.

Also surviving are five brothers and three sisters, Errol Williams, Don Williams and Edwin Williams, all of Malad, ID; Dr. Robert E. Williams, Jerome, ID; Gene Williams, Ogden; Ann Tenhaeff, Salt Lake City; Joyce Scott, Ogden; Ella Mae Lott, Blackfoot, ID. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde and Ray.

Funeral services will be held at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary. Interment, North Ogden Cemetery.
