Leon L. Williams, 88, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at his home in Darlington, Idaho.
He was born November 4, 1926 in Malad, Idaho to Edward Gleed and Martha Blaisdell Williams. Leon was raised and attended elementary and high school in Malad. He spent his summer months in the Daniels area on their ranch.
On July 20, 1948 he married June Talbot in the Logan LDS Temple in Logan, Utah. They made their home in Malad for a time before moving to Fort Hall and eventually to the Lost River Valley in 1964. This is where they raised their family and worked together on the family farm.
Leon was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in two bishoprics, the high council and numerous other callings throughout his life. He loved his family and enjoyed watching his kids and grandchildren play sports.
He served on the school board for the Mackay School District and as a board member for the Big Lost Rivers Irrigation District and Bingham County Cooperative.
Surviving are his children: Kim (Janet) Williams, Firth. ID; Brett (Trudy) Williams. Darlington. ID, Michelle (Blame) Mclnelly, Blackfoot, ID; Todd (Lynette) Williams, Firth, ID; Greg (Barbara; Williams, Kaysville, UT, and Troy (Suzanne) Williams, Sugar City, ID; a sister, June Jones, Malad, ID; 35 grand-children and 84 (soon to be 86) great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, June Williams, a daughter-in-law, Nancy Childs Williams, five brothers, Dee, Glen, Claude, Thayne, Percy and a sister, Faye.
Funeral Services were held Monday, August 17, 2015 at the Moore LDS Stake Center with Bishop Dustin Summers conducting. Interment was in the Mt. McCaleb Cemetery in Mackay, Idaho.
