Lee Douglas Fuhriman, 76 beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, was reunited with his past loved ones on February 24, 1995 at the Dixie Regional Medical Center in St George, Utah.
He was born June 26, 1918 in Logan, Utah, to Arnold Jacob Furhriman and Rachel Partington. On March 22 1940, he married his sweetheart, Evelyn Harris of Portage, Utah in the Logan LDS Temple. He attended grade school through the 8th grade at Pocatello Valley, Idaho in a one room schoolhouse and then continued his education at South Cache High School.
Lee had worked at farming since he was old enough to drive a team of horses. He was chosen ‘farmer of the year’ in 1995 in Oneida County through the soil conservation district and was the director of the Northern Utah Grain Co-op for 12 years. He had a great love for the soil and was a successful farmer for over 60 years.
He earned his wings in aeronautics aviation with a private license to fly and was a member of “The Flying Farmers” in the 1940’s and 1950’s. A High Priest in the Tremonton 4th Ward , he served as ward clerk, Sunday School President, and High Priest Group leader.
He loved to be with his family and together they enjoyed boating, water-skiing, snow skiing, hunting, and fishing and just being together. He was creative and inventive both in his occupation and as well as his hobbies such as carpentry and leather work.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; six children; Dixie and Chuck Dursteler of Bellevue, Washington; Dennis and Marsha Fuhriman; Cheryl and Fred Davis; Douglas and Trudy Fuhriman, all of Tremonton; Joyce and Peter Kelly of Palmer, Alaska; Richard and Rosemary Fuhriman of Downey, Idaho and one sister Neva Misner of Logan, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 1, 1995. Interment was in the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
