Lawrence Jones, president and chairman of the board, cut the ribbon at the grand opening of First Bank & Trust’s new building located at the intersection of South Main and East 50 South. More than 150 gathered to watch the ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday, July 27th. 

With Jones is his wife, Marie, and Mike Broadhead, Executive Vice-President. The facility, according to Broadhead, is a “dream come true,” following 77 years in the original building. In 1907, assets totalled $52,139; they total about $73 million now, according to Board Director Ward Thomas. 

More than 2,000 persons visited the building throughout the day.
