LAVELLA ANN JENSEN

A funeral for LaVella Ann Jensen, 87 of Vacaville was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday, First Ward, Alamo Drive, Vacaville, California.

Bishop Randall Rich officiated. Interment followed in the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery where LaVella was laid to rest next to her husband Carl, who passed away March 5, 1969.

Mrs. Jensen passed away November 28, 2005, in Queen of The Valley Hospital in Napa following a long illness.

Born October 10, 1918, in Woodruff, Idaho, she was a self-employed caregiver, working for more than 20 years. She was a former Red Cross volunteer at David Grant USAF Medical Center, member of the Military Widows Association, active member of the Women’s Relief Society, was very active in the Genealogy Library at the Oakland Temple. She was an avid reader, historian and followed current events. She loved camping, did beautiful needlepoint and crocheting, loved cooking, and tending to her roses and many vegetable gardens. LaVella’s sense of humor was like no other. She embraced life and lived each day to the fullest.

Mrs. Jensen is survived by her daughters: Anita Crist (Dale), Kathryn Leppert and Debra King (Chris), all of Vacaville; son, Steven Jensen and life partner, Richard, of San Francisco; seven grandchildren: Aaron Crist of Mesa, Arizona, Amy Bennett of Galt, Matthew Crist and Shannon Lowe of Vacaville, Adam Crist of Meridian, Idaho, and Carl Leppert and Janell King, both of San Francisco; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Suzanne Crist, on February 5, 1976, and y a sister Maureen Thomas.
