Death Calls a Worthy Woman

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Second Ward tabernacle with Bishop W. W. Thomas presiding, for Mrs. Laura Murray, wife of Fred Murray who passed away suddenly of heart attack at the Oneida County Hospital Tuesday night, May 2, 1941. Mrs. Murray has been in poor health for some time.

Mrs. Laura Holbrook Murray was born January 18, 1888 at Bountiful, Utah, the daughter of Jane Ann and Moses A. Holbrook. Her mother is still living in Bountiful, Utah. Mrs. Murray is a woman that was very well known here having lived in Oneida County for the past thirty three years. She, with her husband, have managed the Fred Murray store and café for several years, having just recently disposed of it. Mrs. Murray has made many friends through her friendly and cheerful disposition. She was a member of the LDS Church. She is the mother of four children from a former marriage namely; Mrs. Florence Greer, Los Angeles, Calif; Dale H. Willie, Malad; Lt. jack Murray who is in the air corps stationed in the USA and W.L. Willie who for the past two years and a half has been serving in the US army overseas. Survivors include besides her children, her husband, her mother, Mrs. Jane Holbrook; and the following sisters and brothers: Mosses L. Holbrook, Hattie Holbrook, Mrs. Frank Briggs, Mrs. S.A. Bryson of Bountiful; Oscar R. Holbrook and Mrs. A.G. Funk, Salt Lake and G.M. Holbrook, Los Angeles, Calif.
