DOWNEY, Id. – Larry F. Denney, 76, of Virginia, passed away Wednesday April 14, 1999 at his home of cancer.

He was born February 23, 1923 in Lovell, Wyoming, a son of Edward Leroy and Mary Myrtle Skidmore Denney. He moved with his family to Virginia, Idaho at the age of 2. He attended school in Downey.

He married Elizabeth Gunner August 12, 1943 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He had farmed and for several years had been a machinist for the Paul Roberts Co., as well as for Bucyrus-Erie.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth, of Virginia; six sons and one daughter, Dan (Karen) of Nampa, Doran (Terri) of Fielding, Utah, Byron (Lei Lani) of Arimo, Russell (Carolyn) of San Jose, Calif., Steward (Dorothy) of Lava Hot Springs, Charles (Margot) of Nampa, Julia (John) Somsen of Virginia. He is also survived by his mother, Iva Hancock Denney( to whom he was sealed to and was reared by); 29 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Frances (John) Harker of Shelley, Idaho; four brothers, Arden of Clearfield, Utah, Ray (Lois) of Ogden, Utah, Lynn (Dixie) of Ogden, Utah, Thayle (Helen) of Orange, Calif. He was preceded in death by his father and one grandson, Mark Denney.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 19, 1999 at noon in the Arimo LDS Stake Chapel. Friends may call on Sunday, April 18, from 6 p.m.to 8 p.m., at Horsley=s Marsh Valley Funeral Home, 570 N. Meadowview Drive in Arimo, and on Monday at the Arimo church from 10:30 a.m. to11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Downey City Cemetery.
