Lana Lynn Sombrero Schulte, Beloved Mother, Grand Mother and Great Grand Mother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 12, 2024 from health complications.

Lana was born on April 12, 1948 in Tonalea, Arizona to Robert Sombrero Sr. and Susie Fatt. She was the 8th child out of 14 children.

She met George Schulte in 1967 in Flagstaff, Arizona. Soon after they were married on March 1st, 1968, in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the space of 4 years, they would welcome three girls, Debra, in 1968 and the twins Susan and Shirley in 1971, joining older brothers from a previous marriage, Tim and Gary.

They joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1980 and they were sealed as a family on January 9th, 1982 in the Mesa Arizona Temple.

George and Lana, after living in Flagstaff, Arizona for many years made the move to Lava Hot Springs, Idaho where they have resided for 28 years.

She is survived by her husband, George Schulte of Lava Hot Springs, and by her five children, Tim Schulte (Christine) of Blanding, Utah, Gary Milray (Linda) of Glendora, California, Debra Schulte Jacobs ( Joel) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Susan Rieger ( Dan) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Shirley Anderson ( John) of Las Cruces, New Mexico. She is also survived by 9 siblings, by sisters, Judy Sombrero, Sylivia Clark, Faye Black, Mae Black, Lena Mann, Nora Sombrero, Zonnie Sombrero, and Nona Sombrero and one brother, Harry Sombrero. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Anna and Sarah and two brothers, Robert and Amos, as well as a grandson, Bronson DeMoss.

There will be a graveside service at the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery on Wednesday, October 16th at 2:00 pm, Dedication of the grave and burial will follow.
