Kenneth Niels Christensen

Kenneth Christensen, 51, 196 Melrose, died Monday afternoon, June 29, 1992, in Holy Cross Hospital at Salt Lake City, Utah, following a brief illness.

He was born Sept. 29, 1940, at Malad, Idaho, to Niels and Emma Babbitt Christensen. He graduated from Pocatello High School in 1960. He married Mary Stevens, and they were later divorced. He married Judy Walter Mav 9, 1981, at Elko, Nev.

He served eight years in the U.S. Army Reserve. He worked as the loan manager at the Pocatello Railroad Credit Union, and was involved in the credit industry since 1963.

He enjoyed fishing, boating, football and other activities that involved youth. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a charter member and organizer of the National Exchange Club in Pocatello. He was the national director of CUNA, and on the board of directors of the Idaho Credit Union League, and on the board of South Park Inc., and a member of the Pocatello chapter of the Idaho Credit Union League. He was on the scholarship committee of the Pocatello BPO Elks No. 674.

He is survived by his wife, Judy, of Pocatello; his three sons, Kenneth N. Christensen of Phoenix, Ariz; D. Randy Christensen and Todd Christensen, both of Boise, Idaho. He also is survived by four grandchildren; one brother, Niels Christensen of Pocatello; and three sisters, Margaret Liddle of Renton, Wash.; Kenna Miller of Pocatello, and Emma Mae Judge of California. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 3, 1992, at 1 p.m. in the Henderson Funeral Chapel, 431 N. 15th Ave., with Bishop Morris Kinghorn of the Pocatello LDS 13th Ward officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thurs-day, and from noon until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by the combined Pocatello veterans’ groups and auxiliaries: the Disabled American Veterans, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
