Kay Jones Williams, age 82, died of complications due to Alzheimer’s on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at The Gables in Shelley, Idaho surrounded by her loving husband and family. Kay Jones was born on May 1, 1934 in Malad, Idaho, to parents John J. Jones and Armenta Richards. She married Franklin Dale Williams on April 12, 1951 in the Logan Temple. She loved and supported her children and grandchildren in all their activities and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Kay was a stay at home mom until her children were all in school and she went to work at Mallory’s Department Store and then at Rexall’s Moulton Drug Store, both in Shelley. She also volunteered on Election Day for about seven years. She was active in her church, serving in Primary, Young Women’s (MIA) and Relief Society and was a dedicated visiting teacher. Kay was known for having a big heart and empathy for others and was always willing to help others.
She enjoyed helping Frank build their cabin in Island Park. Some of her fondest memories were spending time with family there, hunting and fishing with Frank, working in their yard and garden, and supporting children and grandchildren in their many activities.

Kay is survived by her husband, Franklin Dale Williams, of Shelley; her children, Patty (Les) Kidman, Debbie (Bob) Drollinger, both of Shelley, Jeff (MaryAnn) Williams of Idaho Falls, Tammy Williams of Rifle, Colo., Lisa (John) Bishop of Battle Ground, Wash., and Tina (Brent) Rosenkrance of Boise, Idaho; her sister, Elaine Tillotson of Pocatello, Idaho; grandchildren, Jared (Cheryl) Kidman, Ryan (Jamie) Kidman, Curtis (Ashley) Kidman, Michael (Brittney) Kidman, Kim (Shane) Bateman; Trevor (Lisal) Drollinger, Tyson (Brandy) Drollinger, Tristan Drollinger; Tenelle (Russell) Tolbert, Tiffany (Bert) Mecham, Chris Williams, Trent Williams, Kelvin Williams, Amanda Sterling (Earl), Ryan Perrenoud, Trevor Perrenoud, Travis Bishop, Jason Bishop, Stephanie (Craig) Perrenoud; Darren Love, Chad Rosenkrance and 40 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John J. Jones and Armenta Richards Jones, her two brothers, Victor (Jane) Jones and Lavar (Wanda) Jones, and her six sisters, Alice (Doug) Ferguson, Margaret (William) Asire, Melba (Dean) Harmon, Shirley (Bill) Williams, Merle (Wayne) Henderson, Donna (Paul) Tillotson, and two great-granddaughters.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, at the Shelley South Stake Center (675 South Milton). The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
