Karin Marie Pedersen Malouf

MALOUF, KARIN MARIE PEDERSEN, June 26, 1923 – July 1, 2008

BRIGHAM CITY – Karin Marie Pedersen Malouf, 85, passed away on July 1, 2008 at the Brigham Nursing and Rehab. Karin was born in Oslo, Norway on June 26, 1923, a daughter of Theodor Gydar F. and Dora Simonsen Pedersen.

She attended schools in Norway. Her father was one of the early members of the LDS Church in Oslo, Norway. Whatever Ward she belonged to, the children were her best friends. Karin married Richard C. Malouf on October 21, 1955 in Logan, Utah.

She worked for the Mode O Day in Logan, UT, and later at Brigham Apparel where she was a supervisor. She did beautiful needle work and canvas work that won her blue ribbons at the county fair.

We would like to thank all her neighbors and friends in Lindsey Park and Country Lane Assisted Living. Her special friends Dale and Kathy Bennion and Tawna Thornton. She suffered back pain most of her life which crippled her in her later years. She made friends with everyone and always had a smile on her face. Everyone knew her as Mas.

Surviving are her daughter, Ilse (Robert) Richards, Brigham City, UT; three grandchildren: Craig (Julie) Hulse, Brigham City; Shelly (Mark) Price, Malad, ID; Kimberly (Brad) Stewart, Paradise, UT; two step-grandchildren: Dale (Julia) Richards, Harper Ward, UT; Dr. Lynn (Debbie) Richards, Provo, UT; nine great-grand children, two step-great grand children. One sister, Ruth Hill, Logan, UT; and several nieces and nephews in the USA and Norway.

Preceded in death by her husband, parents, Dora and Theodor and ten siblings.

Funeral services will be held July 7, 2008 at the Brigham City 19th Ward. Interment will be in the Brigham Cemetery.
