Junius LaVern Crowther, 97, of Orem, Utah, died January 19, 1999, from causes incident to age. He was born June 7, 1901, in Logan Cache County, Utah, a son of Edward and Mary Weston Crowther. He married Mary Dredge on August 19, 1925, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mary died October 15, 1993.

Junius attended the University of Utah, where he was a member of the University of Utah Alumni Association. He sang in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. He was a designer and builder of Flour mill machines, wheat storage tanks, the Crowther Reservoir Dam, water and wheel and chemical laboratory for testing wheat. Junius was also a weather observer for 50 years .He served two missions: 1922-1924 to the Western States and in 1958 he returned with his wife to the Western States. He served as a Bishop for nearly 12 years.

Junius will always be remembered for his positive approach to life, his delightful sense of humor, and his courage in the face of adversity. He loved life and wanted to stay and get all he could out of it.

Survivors included two sons and four daughters: Wilford P. (Margean) of Bountiful; Ray Sheldon (Sharolyn), Carol (See) Sharp, and Vella (Keith) Perkins all of Orem; Carma (Steve) Davis of Provo; Rosemary (Leo) Wilcox of Farmington; as well as 25 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 22, 1999, at 12:00 noon in the Orem First Ward Chapel.

Additional Funeral Services took place in the Malad First Ward Chapel, Malad, Idaho on Saturday, January 23, 1999. Interment was in the Malad City Cemetery.

Junius Lavern Crowther died January 19, 1999. Services will be held Friday, January 22, 12 Noon at the Orem First Ward Chapel, 80 South, 280 East.

Friends may call at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah, Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. or one hour prior to services Friday, at the Orem First Ward.

Services will also be held Saturday, January 23, at 1:00 p.m. in the Malad First Ward Chapel. Friends may call one hour prior to services.

Additional Funeral services will take place in the Malad 1st Ward Chapel, Malad, Idaho on Saturday, January 23, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. a viewing will be held 12:00 to 12:45 prior to the services at the Malad 1st Ward Chapel. Interment will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
