The Bolingbroke family lived in Pocatello in the winter months and spent summers farming in Arbon Valley, ID where they had a ranch house. Judy loved riding horses and driving the tractor. She loved when her best friends and nephews came to visit. At the end of summer, Judy would stay with her sister Connie in Pocatello to start school while her parents finished farming for the summer. She attended Jefferson and Lincoln Elementary schools in Pocatello. She attended Irving Junior High and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1966. Judy was a member of the Pocatello High School dance team, Gate City Singers and the high school choir. She was also a member of the pep club.

After high school Judy attended a business college in Pocatello. She worked as a secretary for an accounting firm. She then decided to move to Salt Lake with some friends to work as a secretary for a lumber company. In Salt Lake City she met her sweetheart Steve Carter of Thatcher, Idaho. Judy was on a date with Steve’s friend who was borrowing Steve’s car when Steve decided he wanted to pursue Judy. His persistence paid off and they were married on November 10, 1967, in Pocatello, ID.

Steve and Judy began their married life in American Falls, ID and then moved to Aberdeen, ID in 1969. They started their family with their first child, Mechelle in 1970 and then Mark came along in 1972. They had Ryan in 1975 and then Brady in 1978, Brett in 1980 and Kristen in 1981. Judy and Steve rode motorcycles for many years with their friends across the US and in Canada. They also liked to go on cruises with their friends and family. They went on 15 cruises together to the Caribbean, Hawaii and the Mediterranean.

Steve and Judy, with help from their family, built a cabin overlooking the Palisades Reservoir and have spent the last 28 years enjoying their cabin with their family and friends. They purchased a timeshare in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico several years ago and have spent many fun vacations there in recent years with family and friends.
