Judy Hughes Gillespie, beloved wife, mother and friend to all who knew her, passed away Friday, March 26, 2010. She was born November 26, 1940 in Malad Idaho to Rachel and Jesse Hughes. She graduated from Utah State University with a secondary teaching degree. She became a high school English teacher in Salt Lake City where she met the love of her life and was very instrumental in helping her husband, Jim, graduate from Law School.
They moved to Boise in 1964 where she established their new home and taught at Borah High School. In 1966 she chose a new career that utilized her talents as a full time mother. She raised two children, her husband, many neighbor kids and a menagerie of animals, all of whom were elevated substantially by their association with her.
Of all her successes, she was most pleased with being blessed with two children and two wonderful grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of family, friends and accomplishments. She knew how to make things happen and brought a polish and shine to everything she did with a smile and grin that warmed hearts and moved mountains.
She is survived by her husband Jim; son, Todd and wife Alison; her daughter Marilee Morley and husband, Paul Morley; grandchildren, Isaac and Rachel Morley.
A viewing will be held at Cloverdale Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Cloverdale Funeral Home.
