Doss, Joseph – 24, September 1912

Joseph Doss, of Malad, passed away Monday, Aug., 7, in Hemet, Calif. He was born September 24, 1912 in Ashgrove, Mo., a son of Henry and Erma Doss. He enjoyed working on the family farm in his youth, and completed his high school education in Missouri.

He attended college in California and later enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. He married Thella Hawkins in 1960, and they made their home in Southern California. Joe had worked as a sales manager and in public relations. After retiring, they spent their time in California and Idaho.

He is survived by his wife Thella of Malad; two daughters, Judy Doss of lake Elsinor, Calif.; and Myrna Jacobsen of Malad. Three grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by one brother and one sister.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 14, at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home. Burial was at the Malad City Cemetery, with military rites accorded by the American Legion , Ernest W. Jones Post #65.
