On Sunday, February 2, 2014, Jordan Llewellyn John passed away at his home in Burke, Virginia, of complications from diabetes. Jordan was born at Cottonwood Hospital in Murray, Utah on May 8, 1984 and lived with his family in Sandy, Utah until he and his family moved to Burke, Virginia in June of 1988. Jordan was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes when he was just two years old.

Despite his chronic illness, Jordan lived a normal life growing up in suburban Washington, DC and he graduated from Robinson Secondary in June of 2002. Jordan attended Northern Virginia Community College in Fairfax, Virginia and worked at Intersections, Inc. until the fall of 2009 when he enrolled at the University of Memphis. Jordan graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in December of 2013. At the time of his death, he was living at home with his parents and seeking employment in the Criminal Justice field.

Jordan was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had an influence for good on all his friends from all aspects of his life – school, church and work. He will be remembered as a humble and positive friend to all and his influence will be missed by many.

Jordan is survived by his parents, Lamonte and Bonnie John of Burke, Virginia; his three brothers – Jeremy (Stephanie) of Buena Vista, Virginia; Christian (Amy) of Brooklyn, New York and Andrew (Michelle) of LaQuinta, California. Jordan also has four nieces and four nephews who love him dearly. Jordan is the grandson of the Eileen John and the late Keith John of Malad; Helen and Hyrum Peterson of North Ogden, Utah and the late Boyd Lewis of Malad.

Funeral services will be held at the Malad LDS 3rd Ward Chapel on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Friends may visit with the family prior to the funeral at the Horsley Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery.
