Jonathan Reed Thomas

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -Elder Jonathan Reed Thomas, 19, died August 29, 2001, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from injuries suffered when he was struck by a train August 21, 2001.
He was serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Argentina/Buenos Aires West Mission. His parents were with him when he passed away at the Britanico Hospital in Buenos Aires.
He was born April 25, 1982, in Tucson, Arizona, the son of Richard D. and Patricia Robinson Thomas. He is survived by his parents of Chandler, Arizona; two sisters, Tamra Thomas, Chandler; Rebecca Thomas, Beale Air Force Base California; a brother, Daniel Thomas, Chandler; and by his grandmother, Edna T. Thomas, Salt Lake City. Utah. He was preceded in death by two grandfathers and a grandmother.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, in the Downey, Idaho, Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 15, 2001, at the LDS Chapel at 1155 East Ray Rd., Chandler, Arizona.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chandler, Arizona, Stake missionary fund.
