John Winters Lusk, Sr., (1829)

John Winters Lusk (Sr.) (Birth 12 Jun 1829/Death 21 Sep 1899)

John Winters Lusk was the son of Samuel Lusk and Elizabeth Maria Dixon and was born in Madison, Madison County, Illinois, on June 12, 1829.

He married Mary Elizabeth Park May 20, 1851 in Pottawattamie, Pottawattamie County, Iowa. They came across the plains in about 1852 and settled in Provo, Utah. Mary Elizabeth died February 20, 1853 in Provo.

He then married her sister Esther Catherine Park March 4, 1854 in Kaysville, Davis, Utah. She died in 1893. They had eight children.

He then married Martha Tidwell who became is polygamous wife on January 20, 1858 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah. They had ten children. Martha died in 1881 and Esther Catherine continued to raise both families. Esther Catherine died in 1893.

After both wives passed away he married Mary Jane McClellan February 12, 1896 in Logan, Cache, Utah. They divorced.

Survivors at the time of his death in 1899 were: Mary Elizabeth, Martha Lucretia, John Winters Jr., Cynthia Maria, Sarah Catherine, Perry Park, Sarah Jane, Louisa, William Jefferson, Emma Rosetta, Lovisa, Alma Hyrum, Joseph Tidwell, Elizabeth Maria, and Charlotte Elmedith.

He is buried in the Malad City Cemetery, Malad, Oneida, Idaho.
