John W. Deschamps Dies Thursday

John Washington Deschamps, 83, life-long resident of Oneida County, died today (Thursday) (07 July 1960) at the Oneida Hospital following a short illness.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the St. John LDS ward chapel with Bishop Melvin Yearsley in charge. Friends may call at the Benson Funeral Home Friday evening and Saturday prior to the service. Burial will be at the St. John Cemetery.

Mr. Deschamps was born Feb. 22, 1877 at St. John, a son of Louis and Ann Stephens Deschamps. He was educated at St. John and married Elvira Jane Harrison, Jan. 19, 1899 at St. John and the marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple, Nov. 20, 1900. Mrs. Deschamps died in 1947.

A rancher and farmer, Mr. Deschamps was a High Priest in the LDS Church.

Surviving are three sons and four daughters: John Phenoi, Burbank, California; Nello, Reseda, Calif.; Rene, Malad; Mrs. Earl W. (Elvira) Bollschweiler, Statton, Calif.; Mrs. Theron “Sid” (Angeline) Farnsworth, Brigham City; Mrs. Wallace (Adlissa) Mallory, Lewiston, Ut.; Miss Fannie Deschamps, Blackfoot; 30 grandchildren; 18 great
grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Racheal (sp. Rachael) Ilum, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Morris (Nellie) Thomas, Malad.
