John Morris Stuart, age 85, died August 26, 1986 at the Malad Nursing Home.

He was born February 20, 1901 in Malad, Idaho to Benjamin Stuart and Charolette Jones.

He was a laborer and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad.

He married Lena Williams on February 18, 1920 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple on January 20, 1948.

Survivors include his wife of Malad, Idaho and two sons, John Morris Stuart Jr. of Malad, Idaho and Odell Stuart of Fresno, California.

One brother, George Stuart, and one sister, Mary Stuart Williams, proceeded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 30, 1986 at 12 noon at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home.

Friends and relatives may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home on Friday evening.

Interment will be in the Malad City Cemetery.

MALAD — John Morris Stuart, 85, 110 W. 200 N., Malad, died Tuesday at the Oneida County Nursing Home.

He was born Feb. 20, 1901 in Malad, to Benjamin and Charolette Jones Stuart. He grew up and was educated in Malad.

He married Lena Williams Feb. 18, 1920 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple Jan 20, 1948.

He worked for 10 years for the Union Pacific Railroad. He had also been employed by Crowthers Mill in Malad. For several years, he had been a farm laborer.

He was an elder in the LDS Church where he served as a ward teacher. He was a member of the Woodmen’s Club. He had been a volunteer for church and community work.

He is survived by his wife, Malad; two sons, John Morris Stuart Jr. Malad; Odell Stuart, Fresno, Calif., six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister, George Stuart and Mary Stuart.

Funeral services will be Saturday at noon at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home in Malad with Bishop Clarence Kent officiating. Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home or Saturday morning prior to the services. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
