Mr. and Mrs. John M. Daniels, 605 Chicago St., Caldwell, celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on Christmas Day, 1957, at Caldwell.

Mr. Daniels is 94 years of age and Mrs. Daniels is 88.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Daniels’ parents came to the U.S. from Wales and arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1849, just two years after the arrival of Brigham Young and his party.

Mr. Daniels’ parents, Thomas Daniels and Mary Davis, were married in Salt Lake City in 1849 as were Mrs. Daniels’ parents. William Richards and Margaret Morgan.

The Daniels moved to Brigham City and John was born there April 21, 1863. When he was two years of age his parents moved to Malad. His mother died here a year later. He received his education at Malad and worked on the farms of his father and his brother-in-law, Bill Jones. When he was 17 years of age he left on horseback for Montana. He arrived in Anaconda three months later and remained there for nine months before returning to Malad. He later freighted with oxen and then horses, taking commodities to Montana and also the state of Washington.

Mrs. Daniels’ parents came to Malad City in 1865 from Utah and she was born in Malad on November 29, 1869. She too received her education at Malad.

Mr. and Mrs. Daniels were married on Christmas Day, 1890, at Anaconda, Montana. They resided in Anaconda until 1897 when they returned to Malad for a short time before moving to Arbon Valley where they homesteaded and remained until 1918 when they moved to Pocatello. In 1920 they moved to Rupert and came to Boise in 1938. They have resided in Caldwell for a number of years.
