SALT LAKE CITY-Jerry Thomas Williams, passed away November 10, 1995 at the VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City after a lengthy illness. Jerry was born in Samaria, Idaho, the son of Max and Ellen Williams. He attended school in Samaria and Malad and later received his barbering license in Salt Lake, a trade he loved and practiced all of his working years. He married Frankie Yelland in Tonapah, Nevada on July 15, 1943 while in military training. He served two years in the European Theater of War.

During his barbering career Jerry operated shops in Ruth, Nevada and Bolder City, Nevada and in 1969 returned to his beloved Idaho where he established a shop in Rupert for 17 years. His outgoing and jocular personality and talent for cutting hair made a very successful business.

In 1990 because of Jerry’s poor health, Jerry and Frankie sold their “min-farm” at Rupert and moved to Bennion, where they have since resided. Jerry was a member of the LDS Church, the American Legion, where he served two terms as Commander, and a member of the VFW. Jerry and Frankie served a mission to Tempe, Arizona in 1980-1981.

Jerry is survived by his wife; son, Gregory Kit Williams, Torrance, California; daughter Gayle Kim Fakhouri, Moonpark, California; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Alvin, Samaria, Idaho; sisters: Leone (Mrs Kenneth Begold), Twin Falls, Idaho; Ruth (Mrs John Surrage), Odgen, Utah; Betty Joy (Mrs Ray Launer), Lindon, Utah. Preceded in death by his beloved son Dale Max, parents, and brothers Dan and Floyd.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, 2 p.m. At the Samaria Cemetery in Idaho. Friends may call Tuesday, 10-11 a.m. At McDougals Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road.
