Janis Catherine Davis Capener (Birth – 1 December 1941)

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at Malad Fourth LDS Ward for Mrs. Janis Catherine Davis Capener, age 21, who was killed Sept. 21 (1963) near Elwood, Utah, in an automobile accident.

Bishop J. Arthur Servoss conducted the services. Prayer at the funeral chapel was offered by Reed Dowdle; at the chapel, by Leon J. Castleton and Cecil Sweeten. Speakers were Colen H. Sweeten, Jr., Jesse Hughes and Boyd Thomas, who read the obituary. Musical numbers were a duet, Don and Mary Alice Williams; solo, Jenkin L. Palmer. Myra Jean John played the prelude and postlude music and was accompanist. Dedicatory pryer was offered by Raiford Benson. Flowers were carried by friends and members of the Fourth Ward Relief Society. Casket bearers were brothers-in-law, Richard Knott, Marlo Atkinson, Jay Capener, Frank McNabb, Gene Capener, John Batis.

Interment at Malad City Cemetery was directed by Benson Funeral Home.
