James R. Strong died March 10 in Wendell

James (Jim) Strong, age 64 of Wendell, died Thursday, March 10 in a Twin Falls hospital following a long illness.

He was born Feb. 16, 1913 in South Weber, Utah, the son of Cline and Mary Jane West Strong.

He married Deltha Price of Samaria July 5, 1938 in Malad. The marriage was later solemnized in an LDS temple.

He was reared in Holbrook and farmed in Wendell from 1938 to 1941. He then worked at General Mills in Ogden for 10 years before moving to Glendora, Calif. where he was employed as an electrician until his retirement in 1970. He then returned to Wendell where he resided until his death.

He was an active member of the LDS Church.

He is survived by his widow of Wendell; two sons, James Strong and Brent Strong, both of Glendora, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Hollis (Beverly) Davison, Camp Le Jeume, N.C., Mrs. James (Brenda) Long, Mahwah, N.J. and Mrs. James (Alaina) Sembaski, San Antonio, Tex.

Also surviving are two brothers, Bert and Alvin Strong of Wendell; two sisters, Mrs. Berniece Miller of Wendell and Mrs. Maurine Baker, Ogden and 15 grandchildren.

The funeral was held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Wendell 2nd Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Roy Miller officiating.

Burial was in the Wendell Cemetery.
