James Fonnesbeck
Howell – James C. Fonnesbeck, 61, died September 27, 1999, of cancer at the Bear River Valley Hospital in Tremonton. Jim was born September 11 1938 in Tremonton, Utah the son of Paul Fielding and Maurine Iris Hurd Fonnesbeck.
He lived his entire life in Howell where he received his elementary education. He graduated from Bear River High School in 1956.
He married Vicki Lynne Anderson on November 28, 1958, in Malad, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS temple on January 15, 1965.
They made their home in Howell where Jim farmed and worked as an X-Ray Technician for Thiokol Chemical Corporation.
Jim was a founding member of the Bear River Valley Cutter Racing Association. He won the World Cutter Racing Championship in 1972 and 1973. For 10 years, he coached Little League football. Jim loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. He loved riding his horse but most of all, he loved his family. He will be loved and missed by many.
He was a member of the Howell Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he was serving as a counselor in the Sunday School presidency and a home teacher.
He is survived by his wife, Viki, children Chris (Cindy), Riverside; Paula (Ron) Brown, Plain Cit;, Tyler (Kim), Elwood; Troy (Anna) Howell; Curtis (Colette) Deweyville; Kathy Fonnesbeck, Howell; 19 grandchildren, Mother Maurine, (Merlyn) Jackson, Tremonton; a brother Doug and sisters Carol, Marsha, Leah and Sheila.
He was preceded in death by his father Paul; a sister Margo and two infant granddaughters daughters Angie and Rachel Fonnesbeck.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 1, 1999, 12:00 noon at the Howell LDS Ward Chapel, 16035 North 17400 West, with Bishop Bradley Hawkes officiating.
Friends may call Thursday, September 30th, from 6-8 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East Tremonton and Friday, October 1st from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Church.
Interment in the Howell Cemetery.
