Jacqueline Harrison Marsh

MARSH, JACQUELINE HARRISON, August 12, 1927 – October 4, 2006

Jacqueline Marsh passed away peacefully at home on October 4, 2006 after enduring a neurological disease that disabled her body, but never her heart or mind.

Jackie was born August 12, 1927 in Malad, Idaho to Lily and Jesse Harrison. After graduating from high school she moved to Salt Lake City and was employed at HAC Savings Co. She married Roy W. Marsh on June 18, 1949. After being stationed in San Francisco during the Korean War, they returned to Salt Lake City to raise their family and enjoyed 54 years together.

She was deeply committed to her faith and served in many leadership positions in the LDS church.

An award-winning gardener, Jackie also found joy in travel, hiking, skiing, reading, the majesty of nature and spending time with family and friends. She had a deep appreciation for the arts which flourished during the 16 years she volunteered as a docent at the Museum of Church History and Art. She freely shared her optimism, energy, style, humor, grace, wisdom, tolerance and kindness and was a remarkable mother and grandmother. Generations will be blessed by the impact she had on her children’s lives.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a sister and brother. She is survived by her children, Susan Christensen (Dennis), Sandra Marsh, Sally Haglund (Paul) and Roy W. Marsh III (Michelle), 10 grandchildren; and five brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will b e Monday, October 9 at 11:00 a.m., Highland Stake Center. Friends are invited to a viewing October 8 from 5-7 p.m. at Garner Funeral Home. A private family viewing will be held at 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. prior to funeral services.
