Iver Edwin Bradley

Iver Edwin Bradley, 77, formerly of Malad, passed away on August 2, 1998.

He was born May 30, 1921 in Ridgedale, Idaho (Pocatello Valley) to Iver and Bobbie Routh Pickett Bradley. He received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Catholic University in Washingnton, D.C.; and an honorary doctorate degree from the University of Utah. He married Jane Francis Glover on October 16, 1943.

After earning his master’s degree, Iver became assistant professor of mathematics and physics and head of the Science Division at Westminster College of Salt Lake, positions he held from 1948 to 1957. He was a lecturer in economics at the University of Utah from 1957 to 1964, when he became associate professor of economics and director of the Institute of Technical Training. In 1972, he joined the College of Business as an associate professor of management. In 1978, Iver as appointed Associate Commissioner for Budget and Finance with the Utah System of High Education, a position he held for four years, until his return to the University’s Graduate School of Business as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. In 1984, he became the University’s ninth dean of the Graduate School of Business and College of Business.

Iver is survived by his wife, Jane; his four children, Catherine Anne, Edwin James (Glenda), Jane Louise, and Thomas Iver (Peggy); as well as his 11 grandchildren, William, Adam, Elizabeth, Jack, Ian, Corina, Daniel, Susannah. Laura, Nicholas, and Ezekiel. In addition to his children, he is survived by four sisters, Ruth Wilkinson, Elko. Beryl Jenkins, Elko; Mary Jean Amende, Albion, Idaho; and Ruby Hammel, Salt Lake. He was preceded in death by his brother Vince.

Iver was a teacher. His family his students and his friends learned a great deal from this wonderful kind man and he will be missed by all those touched by his presence.

A memorial service was held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
