Isobel D. Irvin

Isobel D. Irvin, 75, Belvedere Apartments, a retired Pocatello businesswoman, died Saturday in the Bannock Nursing Home. She was born March 23, 1907, in Malad, to Ephraim, and Isobel Noble Monson.
She was a graduate of Malad High School. As a young woman, she moved to Pocatello, graduating from a Pocatello business college, and was employed by a credit bureau. In 1932, she became the owner and manager of the Pocatello Credit Bureau. Under her direction and supervision, the credit bureau was later rated one of the best in the Pacific Northwest. She sold the credit bureau in 867.
In 1958, she was one of the organizers and charter members of the local chapter of the Pocatello Credit Women International Club. In 1968, she was presented a life membership in the club and a 25-year career club pin. She was also a member of the National Retail Credit Association.
She married Robert E. Clarke July 26, 1931, in Pocatello. They were later divorced. On May 22, 1939, she married Homer Irvin in Dillon, Mont. He was associated with her in the credit bureau and died Jan. 24. 1971, in Pocatello.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ralph W. (Melba D.) Yearsley, Pocatello; a brother, Wendell Monson, Malad; several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a sister and five brothers.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Henderson Funeral Chapel with Bishop A. Errol Draper of the LDS 29th Ward officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Mountainview Cemetery.
