Iris Ann Farnsworth, (1940)

Iris Ann Farnsworth
January 6, 1940 – March 25, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our loving and devoted mother, Iris Ann Farnsworth. Mom passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer and Alzheimer’s disease at the home of her daughter in Lava Hot Springs, ID surrounded by the love of family.

Mom was born to Charles Irie Wall and Cora Saunders Wall on 01/06/1940 in Layton, Utah. She enjoyed her life on the famliy farm with her five sisters, and one brother . Mom loved the farm life and especially loved to ride the horse while her dad plowed the fields, farm life helped to lay the foundation for her love of animals at a very young age. Mom loved any and all animals, and devoted her life to helping and caring for them.

Mom married Edward Kay Walker on December 09,1957 and they built a life together. They started a family and had four wonderful children, 22 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grand children. Mom was a wonderful homemaker and stay at home mom for many years, after which she went to work at a retirement home. She gave great care to her residents, she often worked double shifts to make sure her residents were cared for and had all that they needed. Mom and dad divorced after 25 years of marriage, at that time mom went to work in a pediactric doctors office in Salt Lake City and later married Bill Farnsworth and they later divorced.

After mom retired she moved to Lava Hot Springs, Idaho to her dream home. A little cabin in the middle of the woods. There she enjoyed most of her time in the outdoors. She enjoyed watching the wild life, working in her yard, and feeding the bird’s and squirrels.

Mom also loved holidays and party’s and would find any reason to have a get together!

Mom was a very kind and caring person, she was also strong willed and independent she will be missed by many.

Mom is survived by four children Debra Hobson/Tony, Layne Walker, Vala Pace, Kim Barker/Lorin, two sisters Olive Weston, and Fonda Beck and one brother Larry Wall/ Teri.

Preceded in death by her parents Charles Irie Wall and Cora Saunders Wall, sisters Darlene Genetti, Arelene Bell, and Judy Garcia. Grandchidren Dustin Pace and Chantel Pace and daughter in law Anne Cote.

Mom wanted to be cremated and have a celebration of life, her wishes are being honored and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Our family would like to thank Kaitlyn, Nichelle, Stephanie, Annique and Dr. Housley for the excellent care and service they provided for mom and our family.
