Irene Rowe, 77, of Idaho Falls, a homemaker and former employee of Idaho Potato Growers, died April 4, 1994, at Idaho Falls Care Center.

She was born Aug. 27, 1916, at Thornton, to David and Katheryn Graff Kraus. She grew up and attended schools in Thornton and Rexburg.

On Sept. 29, 1937, she married Bert Rowe at Malad, and they lived in Idaho Falls. Her husband died June 14, 1969. She worked for Idaho Potato Growers for many years.

On Sept. 3, 1971, she married George Russell Rowe in Idaho Falls. They spent summers at Mack’s Inn and wintered in Arizona. He died in January 1994.

An active member of the LDS Church, she served as Primary president. Her hobbies were crafts and traveling. Survivors include her sons, Bert Devon Rowe of Bonney Lake, Wash., Gene L. Rowe of Idaho Falls, and Kerry D. Rowe of Las Vegas; two sisters and two brothers, Lucille Mitton, Leah Bohan and Ruben Kraus, all of Paul, and Sam Kraus of Burley; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a son.

Private family services will be Saturday under the direction of Coltrin Colonial Mortuary in Idaho Falls. Burial will be in Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
