Funeral Held for Mrs. Irene Williams
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at Malad Fourth LDS Ward Chapel foe Mrs. Irene Evans Williams, age 82, who died Saturday in an Ogden rest home after a long illness.
Bishop Earl Gillis conducted the service. Family prayer was offered by Jonah M. Evans; the invocation, by J. K. Morris; the benediction by Cordell Williams. Speakers were Jesse Hughes and Raiford Benson, who read the obituary. Vocal selections were presented by June Ward and Jenkin L. Palmer; Emma S. Ward., played an organ selection. Mrs. Ward was accompanist and also played the prelude and postlude.
Bishop J. A. Servoss offered the dedicatory prayer at Malad City Cemetery. Flowers were arranged by members of the Fourth Ward Relief Society. Casket bearers were Curtis Williams, Cordell Williams, Verlin Moon, L. M. Danilson, Jr., Thomas W. Williams and Lloyd Hughes.
Interment was directed by Benson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Williams was born May 24, 1883, at Samaria, to Jonah and Catherine Deer Evans. She was married to Thomas J. Williams on Nov. 20, 1901, at Malad. He died in April, 1952. Mrs. Williams was a member of the LDS Church.
Surviving are a son, Dean E., Ogden; a daughter, Mrs. Leonard M. (Velda) Danilson, Portland, Oregon; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a brother, Jonah M. Evans, Malad; four sisters, Mrs. Maggie Morgan, Mrs. Effie Pilgrim, Mrs. Hazel Oliverson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Bert (Edna) Green, McCammon.
